March 18, 2026 — Major chlor-alkali manufacturers have accelerated the launch of sustainable, low-carbon potassium hydroxide products in response to stringent global carbon reduction regulations.
INEOS Inovyn recently expanded its Ultra Low Carbon (ULC) Caustic Potash range, which reduces lifecycle CO₂ emissions by up to 70% compared to conventional production. This product line allows downstream industries, from biodiesel refineries to pharmaceutical manufacturers, to significantly lower their carbon footprints.
Similarly, Asian producers are investing in membrane-cell technology powered by renewable energy (solar and wind) to produce green KOH. This shift is reshaping the competitive landscape, as sustainability credentials are becoming a key differentiator for buyers in food processing, cosmetics, and electronics sectors.
